Home made Christmas paper

Today we have been getting ready for Christmas and decided to make our own Christmas wrapping paper, this great activity not only occupied little Sophie but was cheep to do as well, seeing as we are all tightening our belts.  After a recky in the shops Christmas paper cost £3 for 3 meters where as we spent £2.50 on 10 meters of Lining paper.

We decorated our paper in drawings but soon Sophie got worn out trying to cover 10 meters of paper with her creative art.  So we opted for good old potato printing we cut a tree and a star into two potatoes and hey presto, child slave labour was pumping prints out at maximum efficiency. She had lots of fun and it was rather addictive to do as well splotting shapes all over meters of blank paper.  the paint didn't take long to dry as the lining paper sucked up all the moisture, but we left it over night just to be sure before wrapping up the gifts.  We love this and think it is so much more creative and unique than normal paper, plus keeps little ones very busy for a good amount of time.
