Water fun

The Sun is finally out and it is beyond hot, typical British moaning when its grey and moaning when its sunny, but it is really HOT!.

Time for some water fun to cool off the troops so after a trip to the hardware store i bought a large sheet of plastic and a some duck tape and went home to surprise two sweaty monkeys at home.

Laying the plastic out on the lawn made for a great slip and slide and our lawn is perfect for it large and ever so slightly cambered.  The hose was got out and i made a makeshift sprinkler system from a bottle that i stabbed holes in and duck taped this to the end of the hose.

The fun started with much swooshing round in circles on the slippery sheet, and sliding together at high speed down the garden.

I also made sensory puddle for Ella where you fold some plastic over and duck tape it and fill it with water, shapes and glitter.  However she was snoozing and Sophie found it rather interesting to play with, like a giant waterbed but you don't get wet and its nice and cool on your tummy.

  1. We did this on Sunday Helen, it was loads of fun, I think I was a bigger child than the girls! The sensory puddle is a fabulous idea.
