Its HOT HOT HOT!!! so to cool little people down I made treasure ice, we made Treasure ice last year but i gave it to Sophie fully coloured with things inside. This year i gave her some giant lumps of ice and let her colour some of it herself using some pipettes, i used some food colouring watered down. Course she invited her very first boyfriend round Reilly Roo to join in the fun.
All the treasure ice was brought out in stages for the kiddies to explore and play with and after the giant ice i had ice with foreign coins in, fish shaped ice with beads in, large chunks with rubber balls etc etc
We even had ice with candy in it which Sophie and Reilly couldn't get enough of as they sucked the cooling ice to get at the hidden candy inside, course this can be done with fruit to.

Last of all i froze some bicarbonate of soda and gave Sophie and Reilly some vinegar and watched as they were surprised at the fizzing and foaming melting shapes.
