Exploding foam bottles

A few kids a few ingredients and how much fun ??  so simple and i just love the faces as the chemical reaction happens.

all you need is
2 tablespoons of warm water
1 teaspoon of dried yeast
mix the yeast and water together as this acts as the catalyst to cause the reaction with the hydrogen peroxide i also added a bit of food colouring in the yeast water mix for fun, 3 kids 3 colours.

In a bottle add 1/2 cup of 6% hydrogen peroxide, and a squirt of liquid soap. The hydrogen peroxide can be got from a beauty wholesaler, they may call it 20 volume do not use 3% from the supermarket as this wont work.

Add the yeast water mix to the hydrogen peroxide in the bottle and watch as the reaction fizzes explodes out of the bottle.  Hydrogen peroxide turns into water and oxygen slowly but the yeast mixture speeds up the reaction and mixing with the soap makes bigger bubbles and foam, the bottles may feel warm to touch as this is the energy releasing from the mixture.
