How does your garden grown June

The peony has burst into flower and im so happy as i have waited 3 years for this sulky plant to make its entrance in our garden since i planted so many years ago.

We have a ever green tree that i always forget that this time of year does its own unstated thing with delicate new foliage and even tinier delicate white bell shapes flowers that attract the local honey bees.
Here is another flower that small yet delicately blousey and a lovely shade of pink. and if you remember the ferns that were all curled up a few weeks back are now in strength and very Jurassic park.

Not only do we have the tiny California poppy's  but we have these HUGE orange blousey beauties i love them so much and the patch i have grown started with just one now i have loads.  I also love the cases they come in before they burst which look rather alien.

We have a couple of fruit bushes that we have grown from a single twig and each year they are getting bigger and bearing fruit although we have yet to taste any of it as we seem to be fighting the local blackbird for the rights over it.

  2. Wow, so much colour I am very jealous. I have just been bemoaning that my peony hasn't flowered yet. By the sounds of it I'll be waiting several more years. Worth it though!

  9. I too have been wondering why my peony hasn't flowered since I planted it a few years ago. I googled and found that it takes a few years to establish.
I also read about it not being planted too deeply.
At least now I know it may take a while to flower but I can imagine my excitement when it finally does!
I have a fern and I love how it uncurls :)

  13. Your 'alien' poppy is fantastic but I covet the gooseberries. We don't have any room for fruit here but if I had a bigger garden it would be the first thing I would plant.
