Our journey continues around Butterfly worldand we head for the insect huts full of creepy crawlies, Sophie was excited to see them and even more excited that she could handle them .....YUK but mummy and daddy kept a straight face and let her touch all the creepy crawlies.
There were many glass cabinets round the room with crickets, cockroaches and lots of other bugs. First thing Sophie got to handle was stick insect and Sophie was really happy stroke it and was really gentle. Next there was a giant snail and Sophie was less happy to have this on her hand as it was slimy but she touched and explored the shell.
The room was full of interesting sounds one being from the noisy crickets all rubbing their legs and singing out to one another. Another cabinet had lots of big fat caterpillars busy munching lots of leaves next to another cabinet with cocoons inside and while we were there daddy got to see this big black butterfly emerge from one of the cocoons.
The ant hut was a writhing sea of large red ants all busy scurrying about gathering and cutting leaves and carrying them back to their nest.
Sophie's favorite bug to handle was a cockroach, she loved it so much she now wants one as a pet!!!!!!
