Clandestine cake club

Oh today couldn't have got any better and it was a day i have been looking forward to for a long time the first meeting of the Clandestine cake club in Aylesbury and Bucks.

What a fantastic way to spend an afternoon, Fabulous cakes and Lovely women ! Isnt it funny, i find that truly foodie types are really down to earth and fun people. What sort of cakes did we have well amazing of course there was a lemon drizzle, carrot cake, milk chocolate, apricot yogurt, jam and coconut sandwich, raspberry and chocolate cream, lamingtons, battenberg,  orange cream , rhubarb and custard, and fruit cake...i think that's all of them

But then how could you be glumb when your greeted with such a delightful table of goodies.  I had such a smile on my face i could shift it for ages as my eyes feasted on all the wonderful cakes that were so beautifully displayed in a wonderful setting at the Ardenwood bed and breakfast Arden our hostess laid out a pretty purple and yellow themed table for our cakes to be displayed upon.
The Clandestine cake club is a great community and each time they meet they have a different theme or brief of cake to bake for.  This one was all about cakes of our childhood hence my Battenberg cake. The clandestine cake club have a few rules but mainly its all about the cake and meeting new people which is just what i have been looking for for a very long time.
There was lots of teas and coffees to wash all the cake down with and plenty of chat and laughs sharing recipes and tips from the other bakers on how they created their cakes and why they choose they type of cake baked. We sampled and ate EVERY SINGLE CAKE oh my goodness i don't need to eat any dinner! and when the end of the meeting came any cake left over people dug into to take home leaving lots of empty plates and very happy full people all looking forward to the next time we come together in the spirit of cake and community.
