Owl in the meadow

What a treat to see a barn owl, but lucky me got to watch one hunting and I took a few snaps of it so please excuse the lack of tripod, wrong speed and I wish I had a better lens

We're all going to the zoo tomorrow

Ella turned 2 this month officially not my baby any more and now my little lady.  As she is starting to speak and enjoys seeing the wildlife around in the country, we thought it would be great to take to the zoo for her birthday treat.

The girls had lots of fun all day Ella especially being able to see lots of different animals she had never seen before, and with all that running around and plenty of ice creams the car journey home was peaceful, happy birthday little lady.

Seeing red

It is that time of year where the poppies are literally popping up all over my garden is a mix of self seeded wild poppies and ornamental and the country lanes are cram packed with gentle red heads nodding to the insects to come over and visit them.

On our street there is a wonderful gentle climb and it is awash with red, and is very eye catching.

Here are the poppies from my garden, I had Sophie help me shake seeds last year and she ended up shaking all the poppy seeds in a big clump rather than sprinkling them around now I have this rather strangely mass group of poppies slap bang in the garden, looking ever so lovely but very out of place.
