How to make Playdough

Today we made play dough for Sophie, its fun to play with but also fun to make and so easy little ones can make their own play dough.

All you need is 1 cup of flour, half a cup of salt and half a cup of water.  then either a touch of water or flour to bring it to the right consistency at the end.
After you have made your basic dough you can jazz it up, i use food gels to colour up the dough you can also colour your water and add it that way too. Sophie chose blue a little goes a long way, and a good kneed in the bowl kept Sophie busy.
For added effect Sophie chose pink glitter to add a bit of sparkle to the dough and i added some peppermint fragrance to make it smell nice as we played with it.

I was away this weekend, so it was left to daddy to look after Sophie.  When i got back neither had been to A&E which was good and daddy was still in one piece, although Sophie was high as apparently they had a diet of cream cakes, fizzy pop and sweeties all weekend, along with 4 hour naps in the day.  Both were happy so all is good.

Bonfire night and toffee apples

Bonfire night is upon us and Ali is getting ready with his many fireworks to put on a good display for us in the back garden.  Uncle Andrew is coming to and we cant wait to see him again its been too long, Ali said that even Uncle Andrew is bring some fireworks too, i think its going to be a long night.

Paper firework crafting and daddies real fireworks

Ali loves fireworks night, he is terrible like a 6 year old on Christmas day.  It doesn't help that there is a rather good firework shop that comes to town for a short period only and he has really amazing fireworks for a fraction of the cost of any supermarket.  As soon as the shop appears there are a queue of dads out the door eagerly waiting to get their hands on the biggest and best fireworks, and when they are gone they are gone.  So Ali makes sure he is there on the first day of opening along with many other keen pyromaniac men, this means that we now have fireworks in the house for 2 weeks and i have Ali begging me to let some off and me saying no wait till the special day giving him loads of anticipation and excitement, he even counts the days down bless him.
