Kop hill climb

The Chiltern hill are alive with revving engines.  In its 5th year the Kop hill climb is a great day out for diesel heads and lovers of classic cars and motor bikes

Classic cars take it in turns parading the hill to see if they can make the climb the hill it starts as a 1 in 6 gradient getting steeper the near the top it gets going to a 1 in 4 gradient, some don't make it up and have to turn back and head to the bottom where they are greeted with cheers and claps from the crowd

The event has all its proceeds go to various charities in the area and all the organisers are volunteers mostly kindly looking older village men with soft grey beards all doing a great job co ordinating and dealing with the traffic they reminded me of the home front doing their duties and did a cracking job
There was even a home made soap boxes competition for the kids where teams come up with their own designs to see who can get the furthest, considering this was kids it was a pretty darn serious affair
The wall of death was the most amazing experience to visit, Sophie and i went in to watch the show...

These are the guys that do the wall of death scene for the BBC interlude between programs and the reality of seeing them in the flesh was amazing, the noise was loud the timbers quaked and rocked adding to the excitement and the team flew round and round the wall of death right up at our faces so we jumped back in fear and thrill, at one point all 3 were flying round and round together and they were doing stunts like look no hands and sitting on the front of the bike steering it with his bum and best of all standing at the side of the bike while it flies round with no hands how did he stay on how was it being steered... oh my word how brilliant.
The Lancaster bomber was supposed to fly over but it was broken so a Spit fire and a hurricane did a fly past 3 times and the roar of the engines was chest poundly good and the sight of the beautifully crafted planes were amazing to watch as they danced in the sky.
