Rent a Hen

Today we decided to rent a hen from our local chicken centre Mill house farm who specialise in many different breeds of hens and are all outdoor reared gentle natured hens.

I have been buying free range eggs for as long as i can remember but these can still be a week or so old depending on how long they have been on the shelf and going through the transit process to get to the shops.  With Rent a hen we now have delivered to our door day old eggs and you cant get fresher than that!

We have been to the farm a few times in the past and seen the hens and Sophie took a shine to the chickens and loved watching them as they went around their business clucking and scratching.

When we joined rent a hen we signed up to a 3 month contract to have eggs delivered every week and we were given a free 6 egg box of tasting eggs, how yummy and how could we not love to have super fresh eggs.  Sophie got egg and soldiers for her tea and loved dipping her bread into the rich tasty yolks.  Mummy got busy baking banana muffins with some of the eggs and we cant wait for our next delivery.
