A book for bedtime Owl babies

We all know that reading a book is important for children's learning and development but still many children don't seem to be read to by parents and taking just 20 mins at bedtime can really help children not only calm down ready for sleep but help them become accustom and improve reading, vocabulary and grammar, give them knowledge and fuel their imaginations so reading becomes more an activity of pleasure and entertainment.  This week i will be sharing one of our favourite books for bedtime every night.  Books are not boring but can be lots of fun and come with lots of different ways to stimulate little minds.

Tonight we are starting with Owl babies by Martin Waddell and illustrated by Patrick Benson is a sweet story about three little owls that have lost their mummy.

This is a smaller sized book so it is easily held by your toddler as you read and has card pages to protect against accidental tears when turning pages.  The story was engaging and illustrations were lovely.
the story has 3 baby owl that say each say something on every page and Sophie enjoyed hearing the story so many time she now adopts the littlest owls voice who is bill and says the words he says on each page and she feels she is part of the story telling process.
Not to worry the story has a happy ending so your toddler wont go to sleep worrying about three little owls that have lost their mummy

  1. This looks like a lovely book. Never mind the little un's, I wouldn't be able to sleep either if the owls didn't find their mummy!
