Mead open farm

This week we visited Mead open farm as they were having a special Halloween event, It was a nice day for Autumn blue sky and warm, which is perfect for being outdoors looking at all the animals.

Sophie, Sophia and Joe all enjoyed seeing all the animals, Sophie loved naming and making the noises of the many animals we saw and even got to pet a few.  Sophie thought the goats were really funny especially the pen with lots and lots of goats.

The Ducks were also a favourite as they walked in long lines quacking noisily to each other.

Next the lucky girls got to go to the bunny hop and see lots of bunnies and guinea pigs, as they sat nicely on the straw bails they were allowed to hold a little rabbit.

We ventured back outside where we found some horses, Sophia's mummy is horsey mad and i think the horsey love runs in Sophia's blood to as she had the biggest grin on her little face when she saw the horses.  Both girls peered in a barn and saw a little Shetland pony, and Sophia got to pat the big white horsey on the nose.

We walked about the farm and saw a really big sand pit and loads of diggers and tractors inside, Joe was very happy indeed and all the kids enjoyed riding the diggers.

That was until there was a power struggle on a dumper truck on who should be the driver. I think Sophie and Joe have meet their match in each other.

They took it in turns and Sophie got her go and was very happy to drive a big truck she also got to drive a JCB crane too.

Sophie spotted some buckets and spades and got busy making a sand castle and after a little boy smashed her castle up whilst building she got up and sort revenge and stamped on his castle.

After fun with diggers we went to find the spooky Halloween event and saw a creepy looking field of corn
Inside the corn field were scary displays and people dressed up as monsters and hiding in sheds and around corners waiting to jump out at us with a big scary BOO! Adele, Emma and Joe were very scared and screamed very very loudly.

We found a big barn and inside was a Halloween shop were Sophia got a bouncy eyeball and Sophie got a new Halloween bucket. next to the shop was a creepy tots corner.

It wasn't to scary but enough for Sophie to cling on tight and seek reassurance from mummy.  Sophia was really brave and wasn't scared at all.

As we left there was a big section for  people to carve pumpkins and a we queued for a pirate ship ride, while we waited Sophia showed of her pretty witches outfit, how cute.

The pirate ship was dressed up and looked scary with skeletons and vultures and it also moved about as if we were at sea.

Then the captain and her mate came out and read us a creepy story and threatened to feed us to the fishes we almost escaped until the captains mate caught Sophia.

We fought and got Sophia back and barely escaped with our lives, at the point big black clouds had rolled in and it looked like rain was coming so packed up and went home, the kids were really worn out and fell asleep as soon as they got in the car.
