Aylesbury vale academy craft fair

Well today i was as the Food and craft fair at the Aylesbury vale academy, and i have to say the event was really well organised.  The academy filled two large halls and there was so many different choices of stalls to visit you could tell the organisers had really thought about the mix of crafts.

The event was also really well advertised, so many event i have been to and the advertising is just a half thought out effort and it really shows in the footfall of visitors, although i think they really need to get a couple of big banners to hang on there hedges out front to capture passing trade and help advertise, i drove straight past the first time as i wasn't sure it was at the academy.  I even saw whilst the event was happening that the organisers were still busy phoning the local radio station to drum up trade and the local paper to help spread the word after the event had happened, which is all great PR for the academy and builds awareness for future events.

There was a nice bustle about the academy although the first hour was a little quiet.  I was sat next to an 11 grade group of pupils and they were enterprisingly selling cakes and cookies to the public and i think they did rather well as there table was almost bare at the end of the day good for them.  There was also a coffee seller, cake pops, semi precious stones, cake stalls and garden pots and even a place you could pick up a hot lunch from some freshly made Indian food, which i had some of and it was very nice.

My stall has a new table now since the last one was destroyed by some lazy teenager that hadn't learnt the use of her legs and its a little bigger so i got to try a new display for my new collection and my soap sold well which made me happy and i sold out of the lemon grass and lime and there was a hot rush on my goats milk oats and honey too.

The academy are thinking about doing a Christmas fair and i hope they do as it would be a really feast of treats if they do just as well organising it as they did this one.
