Aston Clinton village market fair

Wow what an amazing do today this event really was spectacular, the organisation was fantastic and the advertising was spot on as there was so many people and we had a great sunny day to which was just perfect.
The village market definitely had that old fete feel about it and i think its just great this Aston Clinton school are making such an amazing effort to hold up good fun traditional feel that i remember from village green fates from my youth.

The choice in stalls was just vast and there was a live band playing music all day keeping the folk happy and the beer tent keeping the folk even happier.  A fab BBQ and stalls with the most amazing cupcakes, local wines, cheeses and meats.  The crafts were amazing to with all sorts of goodies to be had plus there were pony rides for the kids, swing boats and face painting.  it was truly a wonderful day.

For my part it was also great and i had some wonderful friends come down and say hello and bought my wares so thank you to them, and i also met some new people too who all loved my soaps. I had a great run on both my lavender soaps today as well as my nettle soap that was very popular too.

All the other stall holders were clearly more experienced than me as they all came with gazebos and as this was my first outside event i didn't have one so brought a parasol from home but it kept falling over and almost destroyed my display when the wind caught it underneath so ended up putting it down and catching a sunburn from sitting in the sun from 11am till 4pm Ouch!

Sophie and Daddy came along to the event as it was so amazing Sophie came armed with her shopping bag and nice new hat to keep the sun off  and after Sophie fleeced daddy for ice creams, jewellery, and all manner of treats started to act up as she was really tired to a point he was looking desperately lost as to what to do so ended up taking her home for a good sleep but he didn't mind as he got to watch Grand prix..... i wonder if they planned that?

By the end of the my soap box was lighter and i had a good day and it was well worth the sunburn.

  1. It was a great day. I had my stall Simply Cakes and Bakes and did well especially with my gourmet marshmallows. I completely sold out of the triple chocolate chip and there were only a couple of bags left of caramel swirl! It was my first big market so invested in a gazebo (and leg weights) which was a good investment as I think I would have got burnt too and my cake pops and cake push pops would have melted! I saw your soap very briefly on my whislted stop tour of the market, but you were so busy I couldn't get to see much. I will have to find your website. It was a fab day and I hope I will be able to go back next year too where I can get the chance to buy some of your soap!!

  2. We enjoyed the village market today, a vast array of specialist foods, crafts, jewellery and art, so much to see and buy! Once the shopping was done a visit to the BBQ and beer stalls and a sit down and listen to live music. Couldn't have been any better!!

  3. Yay that it was a success and you didn't manage to destroy your stand especially after the last experience with the teen breaking it! Glad the soap sold well x
