Paper mache Deco patch Fish

Well summer holidays has officially started for us and that means no more nursery for Sophie, so i need to think of lots of things to keep her stimulated, and this project has worked out fine taking 4 days to compleate

We thought we would brighten up the play room with some flying funky fish made out of paper mache and its a good hands on mucky activity that Sophie can really get into.
First off she loved mixing up a big batch of PVA and water and we ripped up an old newspaper and got sticking a few layers onto a balloon to make the fish shape.

We left these to dry out in the conservatory as it is nice and warm and the next day covered them all over again with ripped up white paper and again left these to fully dry to get strong and hard.

Once dry we made them all wet again with more PVA and water mix and layered tissue paper all over the shapes making one blue and the other one pink and then added cut up squares of decorative deco patch paper to make them pretty these were left again to get fully dry in a nice warm room.

Now even more fun was bringing our coloured blobs to life by making a fishy tail and fins and embellishing the bodies a little further now we have two new funky fishy friends flying around in the play room
