Ivinghoe beacon

First truly sunny day and every one gets their sunglasses, summer clothes and convertible cars out.  We decided to go for a small hike to Ivinghoe beacon, but by the time we got their it started to cloud over.

This was little Missy's first hike and she loved it, so it will be an activity we are now able to do more often. Before Sophie came along Ali and I used to go walking quite a bit and were so glad she enjoyed herself, all we need now is a family dog to come along too.  There are a few people hiking in the hills and some have dogs and Sophie got a few licks today which made her squeal and laugh.
As  it is only March and has been quite cold nothing has come out to bloom just yet and mother nature is just poking her sleepy head up from winter, so hopefully in a few weeks we will see a difference in the season changing. We found a few thousand rabbit holes which intrigued Sophie, so daddy told her about a little girl called Alice.
You can probably guess that a place with beacon in the name is quite high up and can be windy, and often we see people flying kites, but we came across this man taking kite flying to a new level and he has been taken up  pretty high by his kite, we are at the bottom of this hill so he is actually higher than the photo give credit to, what an amazing and fun thing to do.  Sophie wanted to try but there was a resounding firm NO!
After an hour and half hiking up and down hills Sophie took a little rest on Daddies shoulders for 5 minutes and I'm very impressed that an 18 month year old babe lasted so long walking as some of those hills must have felt like mountains to her little legs.
