New years day

New years day, a day to celebrate being together a to ring in new planned adventures together for the coming year, for us it is another feast day with a special dinner and bottles and bottles of bubbly.  This is the third year that Uncle Andrew has come to visit us on New years and the girls adore him, although the first time Ella saw him she cried until mummy said it was all ok, after that the gloves were off and the girls were all over him, maybe a bit to much i think he might of been a bit worn out by Sophie by the time he left.
In the past New years dinner has been a few ribs of beef slow cooked and rare which has been nice for a few years but this year we fancied something different and got this 10 bone French trimmed free range rind on pork crackling rack and is a Hampshire breed of boar.  Oh my word to say it was tender and juicy and tasty was an understatement it was really nice although Andrew said it was dry WTF!! Ali had cooked this really well, nice and slow every one likes to be a critic i suppose, maybe we can go to his for dinner one day?.  For pud we had citron tart and home made Madagascan vanilla ice cream, more bubbles, followed by cocktails, daddy makes a mean sea breeze.
Later Sophie played with her new playmobil along side some of her other playmobil as she made up her zoo, Thank you to Auntie Ann who totally spoiled Sophie with 3 new pieces.  Whilst Sophie was playing and mummy and daddy enjoying a few lusher moments daddy decided to get down with the kids and do his first selfie !!!  Let this be a warning to you Ella your daddy is a bit crazy and funny, don't drink and be in control of a camera although he did take this really lovely shot of you while you stared at the loony
