Anisha's adventures in Bangladesh Review

We have been very fortunate to have been sent a delightful book from  My little big town publishing Anisha's adventures in Bangladesh, Retailing at £7.99.

Anisha's adventures in Bangladesh, A lovely story idea of a little girl called Anisha who has a birthday and her grandparents (Dadda and Dadde) ask her what she would like as a gift and grant her wishes by gifting her with two magical pendents.

One pendent allows the ability to fly anywhere in the world by transforming her pony Chloe into a pink pony with wings.  The other pendent creates a magic pink bag with some useful items, one item a magic camera lets Anisha be able to learn about all the things she has no knowledge on, the clever camera that gives print outs of facts and information on all the pictures she has taken.  The other two items are a magic flask and picnic that never runs out to her feed her on her long journeys.

The story is an imaginative one and easily captures the attention of my toddler who loved the story line and plot.  Each paragraph was thoroughly descriptive which was good to start with but with all paragraphs set out this way made the story a bit arduous and long in telling of the story being 48 pages long.  However the learning angle in the book was really exciting and interesting and Sophie loved all the detail knowledge about a country far away and a culture she had never heard of before, including language and names other children call their mummy and daddy, the meaning of the Bangladesh's flag, information on flowers and sports the children liked to play.

The illustrations were cartoon, very bright and colorful with good clear simple pictures showing the actions of the story line. The style of the illustrations were really nice for a 3 year old as she found them very engaging to look at.

Sophie is 3 1/2 now and her interest in the understanding of the world and different cultures has really opened up. This book is wonderfully set out helping little minds with their exploration and knowledge grow of other countries and cultures as they learn about the greater world they lives in.
