Baker Ross Pens and Dough

This month we are very happy to have teamed up with Baker Ross and have some creative fun and play with some of their wonderful goodies

This pack is mostly about all the bright, colourful and different styles of pen that can help with the many craft projects you might be working on.  We also got some bright and very playable dough to, as you can see from the pictures the dough comes in 12 bright colours and if you want to make a new colour that you cant see in the vast range then you can very easily blend your our bespoke blend.
The dough had a very pleasing texture to the touch a bit like stress balls but you can actually do stuff with it like squish, tear and mould.  We had hours of fun playing and mixing dough and came up with lots of imaginative play exercises.  We also noted that the dough was so versatile that if you loved a creation that you had made it even air dries so you can keep it forever, so we tested this and made a big pink spotty starfish wand and left it for 2 days and now Sophie has a nice hard version of the dough to do magic with.  We love this dough and give it a  big thumbs up.

The first of the pens we tried was the Deco pens which can decorate almost anything so we thought we would enjoy the last of the summer sun and make a stain glass window for the play room.  Using a large sheet of cellophane Sophie got busy making lots of wavy, spotty, wiggly shapes with all of the pens.  We really liked teh pens as they had a very vibrant colour to them and just perfect for a stain glass window.
We decided that for the glitter pens we just had to make some butterflies so we could hang them up and watch them twinkle as moved about and the pens came in a range of colours.  The consistency was a bit like PVA glue and glitter and was also a bit wet to use but once dried the wet and glueness had gone leaving behind lots of glitter.
Whilst mummy was having a break getting a cup of tea Sophie's arty mood was ready to go wild with the Turbo maxi pen and these also came in a great selection of colours and Sophie handled these well as they had a nice chunky stick to the pen making them easy to hold and use.
The porcelain pens were interesting as we had never used anything like this before and was keen to try them out.  However not wanting Sophie to draw all over my nice white dinner plates we had a dig through our recycling and found a glass bottle and up cycled this into a pretty sun lantern.

If you have a crafty kid who just loves exploring their creativity Baker Ross supply a vast range of great value crafting essentials for everyday and seasonal play and crafting and well worth a look.
