Wroxham barns

At a recent visit to Granny and Grumps they suggested a trip to Wroxham barns for a fun afternoon here are the adventures of Sophie Poppy and a petting zoo and her first fun fair.

Situated in the Broadlands the barns Granny told us used to be a farm but now all the barns have been converted into tea rooms and craft shops with some nice art work, pottery, jewellery etc which are pleasant to look around  but not so engaging to an 19 month year old, however that was not all that was on offer.  There was a large petting farm and Sophie's first chance to get up close and personnel with loads of different animals.

We defiantly noticed a difference in her vocabulary as we went round and taught her all the animals and their sounds and she just loves to say EEEE OooorrRR now and was fascinated as we fed the donkeys and goats as they eagerly licked up feed we had in our hands, i can tell you it certainly felt funny too.
After feeding a ever gang of greedy goats we escaped with our fingers in tacked and headed towards some rather unusual looking chickens which i forget the name of but i think they maybe Silkie's I'm sure Granny will put me right.

However if i was ever to keep chickens and i would if we ever have a practical garden i would love to own a few Orpington Bantrams, these are larger than i expected and they just look so proud and regal as if they had just jumped off a Victorian painting.

Sophie loved all the animals and there was plenty of Mooing and Baabaaing as we went round and it wasn't all from the animals.

We left the farm and decide to show Sophie the kids fun fair, there were plenty of flashing lights and bright colours, music and noises to gain her interests and she watched as other children raced to get on the rides and she seems excited enough for us to try her on one of the more sedate rides a little train ride, where she sat in the front of her train with daddy as her back seat passenger, she rang the bell as she choo chooed round the track.
Of course being our daughter she loved the ride and wanted to go again but her thrill seeking eyes spotted a BIGGER ride to try and Granny stumped up the pound for the token so she could graduate to a sky boat where all she said was Weeeeeeeee all the way round.

Before we left we went for a quick swing and a slide in the park and poor old daddy was put to work pushing  the swing.
However the main attraction of the day had to be a rather large wet and muddy puddle. Sophie had eyed up some other children playing in it and sensibly with wellys on which she had none on, there had already been a casualty of a small toddler escaping parents to go and sit slap bang in the middle of the puddle and there was no way we were carting a wet muddy baby home and daddy caught her just in time.  It goes to show you can take a child to an exciting park and spend you money but at the end of the day they are just as happy in a big wet muddy puddle.
