Garra rufa fish pedicure

Lucky me i got a pampering treat recently of a fishy nature !!! Ohhh what ?

Yes i had a Garra rufa fish pedicure.  This is a toothless freshwater fish that the Turkish have known and used for centuries for skin complaints, as they eat dead skin by using an enzyme from their mouths as they sucker onto your skin.  These clever little fishes are so good at their jobs they are known for curing psoriasis and eczema as well as other skin complaints, however they are just as good at getting to work on normal feet, happily munching up any dead skin they find.

The experience is a bit nerve wrecking to begin with as you lower your toes slowly into the water wondering what the hell your doing.  As soon as your feet hit the water the little fishes rush to get to work and the sensation will make you pull the most embarrassing face if you have never had this sort of pedicure before, clenched eyes and teeth followed by wide eyes and OHHHHhhhing would win you top prize at a Gurning competition.

Some people have compares the sensation to having your feet in a large glass of champagne.  The many little mouths all suckering to your toes and feet feels utterly unnatural and quite pleasant at the same time, you know the fish have no teeth but you defiantly feel a nibbling sensation.  After a few minutes your happily relaxing watching these busy fish at work and enjoying the pedicure.  20 minutes later and i slowly pulled my feet out and discover wonderfully soft feet and no dead skin at all, and they get to all the parts that a human pedicurist cant get to with those razors, metal shavers and scrappers.  I know which one i would prefer to have again.
