Independence of the Sea part 2

Still exploring the massive Independence of the seas we discovered deck 5 was a promenade but more like a really posh high street full of shops and something we did not expect to find in the middle of the ship.
We first found a big glass bridge that lead to the promenade and at night the bridge was lit up and changed colours and a great place to have a photo taken.

The promenade was a bustle of people shopping in the jewellery stores there were two of a very high end one selling diamonds and pearls and watches and another selling swarovski jewellery and fossil watches, handbags etc.  There was a barbers to get a shave in, clothes shops, duty free stores and gift shops.  there was even a pub complete with football on the tv and a champagne lounge and vintage bar, If you fancied something to eat there was an Italian pizza restaurant or even a Ben and Jerrys ice cream parlour.

If you were not contented to shop on the mall there was a full on Art gallery and art auction on the ship too and we were amazed when we stumbled upon it as again it was not something you expect to see, and we really enjoyed looking round all the art and they even had arty Sofas to relax in while they gave you glasses of Champaign to drink.
All that Champaign really helped when we went to the auction as Ali purchased two bits of art, one was for our new dining room we are decorating at the moment where the artist Du Air has embellished the below piece called Soir des Voiles

The other piece we bought is a Salvador Dali horse on a tile and is a collectors item and part of 12 horses that he painted and is called the Victim of festival.

At night we got to see a few parades and the parade was transformed with bright coloured banners dressed all along the mall.  We saw a welcome parade, a 70's night and a Mad hatters tea party complete with a giant caterpillar.

The entertainers wore some amazing outfits and there even stilt walkers and people flying in the air while the music pumped out getting the crowd dancing along with the parade, Sophie and daddy couldn't believe there eyes and Sophie spent most of the time with a dropped jaw in amazement.

If that wasn't enough fun for the night there was a disco to head to as well, Sophie loves to dance and Daddy was looking forward to a boogie with her and he got a bit of a dance but this room was genius a great place to put your kids to burn that last bit of energy out from them before bed as it ended up with all the girls chasing the older boys around the disco in fits of giggles.
