Holiday treasure box

Now we are back from hols we found that we had picked up a few things such as shells and trinkets from the holiday, and thought we would make a treasure box to keep them all in to remind Sophie of the wonderful times we had, plus its just a good excuse to get down to some crafting.

We bought some little boxes and some decopatch paper and decided that we would try this craft and get all good and sticky.  We had a nice selection of pretty papers to choose from and we used PVA glue and this worked just fine and gave our finished box a nice tough exterior and the paper wont rip off from being handled multiple times by small hands.

One box we did straight decopatch the other we finished off by embellishing with gluing on fluffy pompoms for fun and to make it look a little different.
We did 3 more boxes these were painted and one was topped in gems, another once dried we covered in glue and put glitter all over and the other shiny shapes.
The idea was that we had one big treasure box which Sophie decorated in paint glitter and stickers and inside we would have the pretty boxes which are supposed to be the treasure gems but inside the gems are the memories of the keepsakes.
