Well we have had Sophie in the pool since she was 3 months old and she loves to swim we took a year off from swimming but at 3 and a half we had her diving for sticks off the bottom of the pool. Now she is 4 we have asked her if she would like to do real swimming lessons to help her focus on her stroke technique and breathing. Soph was over the moon and we had to wait as it is a very popular group to enter as it is rumored they train the Olympic swimmers.
We went out and got Sophie a whole new swim kit as we swim about 3 times a week and her old kit is well worn. On her first day she manage to move up group as she was so good and she was even top of that group and the teacher gave her a big thumbs up. Where the other children were part swimming she was fully swimming around the pool. Daddy and i feel really silly now as we both worried that she would be in the pool with out adult supervision but so proud of her being so confident and good in the water. She was even given her very own swimming cap.
Sophie has also been doing well with her gymnastic and has now reach level 8 and working her way up to level 1. We have also decided to help Sophie with a tutor as she is the youngest in her class with her birthday in August and there are many children almost a whole year ahead of her and this will be the case for most of her educational career so just to give her a bit of a fighting chance in her group and education.
Oh, wow - well done on the swimming! I really need to get my pair into the pool, but as I'm not a big swimmer, I never get round to it - I will!
ReplyDeleteWell done, we went for our first big boy swimming lesson today, without Mummy being in the pool. I was so proud I cried on the way home!! #MagicMoments
