Bottle maracas

We recently took advantage of innocents juice offer and bought a couple of bottles of the fruity juice. Being a bit of a apprication of design nerd i noticed when we drunk the contents that the bottles were nicly formed around the neck and lid area, what a sad o i am. So instead of putting them in the recyler i thought Sophie and i could make some musical maraccas with them.

We got plenty of glue and some coloured paper which we tore up into bit and glued these all over the bottles and got very sticky hands.
Next we got some of Sophies magazines and cut out lots of fun charcters and glued these all over the covered bottles as well, and then gave the whole lot a good coat of glue to seal everything together. Dont worry if your using crafting glue this will dry to clear, but you might want to leave this over night to dry.
The next day we put some rice in one bottle and popcorn cornals in the other bottle to make two different sounds. These were great to shake and made two different noises and as the bottles had good wide sides we could even drum on them as well.
