The last mow of the grass we think for the year and daddy and Sophie put stripes on the lawn, Sophie has new glasses, not for bad eye sight i hasten to add but just for style as you can see by Ella sporting them much to the amusement of Sophie
I am still surprised at how much is still blooming even my hosta is not giving up now i have rescued it from the slimy clutches of the slugs and snails it really wants to bloom and show me how lovely it is.
It is a funny time of year with so much in bounty and plants still budding and blooming you get the other side of death and plants going to seed.
Even the smallest flower is clinging on making the most of the last of the warmth that is left over from summer sending out buds and flowers.
stop with all this green fingeredness!
ReplyDeletecute glasses by the way...
lol it just grows
DeleteBrilliant photos, just brilliant. Firstly I need to get a chuckle out of my system at Ella in those glasses!
ReplyDeleteGo hosta go! I am finding dying plants strangely beautiful, a fragile sort of beauty maybe. There's a real nod to Winter as you say and the birds struggles for food ahead - I'm sure we'll all be adding extra see outside too.
Your lavender looks just like mine, and that little pinky flower by it is just beautiful - thanks ever so much for sharing and joining in again x

ReplyDeletei have always said that we have our own micro climate where we live we get sun where 20 mins away get snow and rain
DeleteLove the glasses! I'm always impressed with stripy lawns. I just mow mine like I'm hoovering and hope that no one sees what I'm doing. I love the dried seed heads. What type of flower was that?
ReplyDeletemy hubby is very protective and obsessive about his lawn he always puts strips in it, oh i cant rem the name i would have to look back over the posts to find it but it self seeds all around and is lovely
