Halloween cookies

Halloween is almost upon us and we are doing different things every day and today we are making iced cookies.

We mixed up a batch of sticky black witch treacle cookie dough and rolling it out we let it chill in the fridge while we checked out our lovely new Halloween cookie cutters  from Lakeland £2.79 can you believe it!

Sticky black witch treacle cookie recipe
100g flour
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp ginger
1/2 cinnamon
1/2 tsp mixed spice
25g dark sugar
25g treacle
50g butter

mix all together by hand to it comes together and rest in the fridge.

The cutters are just fab to have at this time of year with 4 characters Pumpkin, Witch, Bat and Ghost.  Soph couldnt wait to open them up for a closer look.

We thought these were fab as they were made from plastic so brilliant to clean as a busy mum cleaning up i can just pop them in the dishwasher, Sophie found them easy to use to press and cut out dough too.

While our cookies were baking we mixed up the colours I always use Wilton icing gels i love them so much a little goes a long way and the vibrancy of the colours are amazing you can also get these from Lakeland for £14.99
We made our line icing and fill icing and let them set before munching on our spooky treats, and if that wasnt scary enough we made a gruesome gingerbread man who lost his head MHAHAHAHAaaaa
