National Trust Stowe House

photo Stowe house.jpg  A weekend visit to Stowe where we got to walk around the large gardens to this very grand house and wouldn't you love this guy guarding your front door !

Although i am not sure about taking the weekly shop up all these steps and daddy was puffed out when he reached the top

Across the vast front garden and lake is a little path that leads to the front door bell i hope the owner can hear this ringing if there was a visitor.
As you walk from the front gate up to the grand house there are 28 temples to explore as well as beautiful gardens to explore and we found this strange shape cloud tree.

With these old gardens we stumbled upon a fairy ring and Sophie enjoyed hunting for the fairies but they were to fast for her to catch.

  6. What a magnificent house and grounds, there's certainly lots to explore and plenty of room for children to run around and burn off some energy. Thanks for linking up and sharing your lovely photos with Country Kids.

  7. What a wonderful old house, and I'm loving the fairy circle! It looks like you had great weather for it.

I wish we could visit more National Trust properties like this but where we live in the Midlands (normally at least - staying in Cornwall at the moment!), we sort of live in the middle of a black hole on the NT map! We gave up our membership as we just weren't making use of it apart from on holidays, a bit sad really.
