There are lots of ways that parents like to teach there little ones colours and how to count and we came up with a fun little way to do this by counting fruit as we put it into the juicer and saying the colours as it went in and how it came out
We just love mucking about in the kitchen especially with food, Sophie now makes a Saturday juice up, her own inventions of what ever fruit takes her fancy and then squishes them all up into a lovely big jug of yum. Sophie does not really need to learn her colours but i thought it would be interesting to find out what a 3 year olds interpretation of what colours taste like, a bit like how would you describe the colour blue to a blind person.
We juiced each different fruit watermelon, cherries, oranges, apples and kiwis all very different from each other and before mixing it up she got to taste it and tell me what the colour tasted like, mostly the answer was juicy and sweet so i decided to give her a list of flavours for her to match up to the fruit like sharp, sour, sweet, crisp, watery etc to make her think about tastes and flavours that belong to the fruits, we also chatted about how the textures of the fruits felt like on her tongue as we had kiwis with little seeds and oranges with tiny pillows of bursting juice and cherries with skins that felt smooth on the tongue and apples that were grainy.

That is amazing that your young girl loves so many different fruits and is willing to put them in a juicer to drink them!! What a fantastic idea! My Hannah has always loved strawberries but there weren't a lot of other fruits I could get her to eat except grapes and bananas, I love all of the rich colors, perfect for teaching... Love this!
