My first fair was at the Bucks county fair, which i have never done before and it was a big step up in cost for me to attend and a risk i hoped would pay off and help me develop a bit for the future. When i first arrived i had been tucked away in a corner and people were passing me by but lucky for me it was raining hard and some people that get free spots didn't turn up so i got a nice spot in the centre and this certainly turned things around for me. With all the rain numbers were not so high according to the pros that turn up each year and the ground outside was boggy, if you can see from the top picture it was hard to walk in and i was glad for my walking boots. The day was brisk trade from 10 till 3 and then the trade broke off giving me a chance to go to the loo and eat a sandwich and take a break, when 6 o'clock came and i had packed away and got in the car to go but the car got stuck in all the mud and i had to be rescued by some nice farmer boys ..... hey what is a girl to do !!!
Glympton Aberdeen Angus Bucks county showThis weekend saw the annual Halton village vintage fete, which was opened by Dave Lee Travis no less !! I thought this was one of the nicest fete i have ever been to very relaxed, well organised and civilised. They had put on vintage bus rides between Halton house and the Fete so people could look around the museum The setting was amazing in a home called treetops and the stall holders placed their stalls all around the apple orchards next to a duck pond. The gardens boasted a mini railway way with a number of small steam engines which gave rides to the children all day long. They even had a collection of classic cars to look at and the local brewery came selling the regions ale which was delicious and BBQ as well as a really fab jazz band and opera singer entertaining the crowds all day and into the evening.. The event had been set up to raise money for The Chilterns MS centre and other local Halton charities, it was truly very nice and i cant wait to go back next year.
