Gone fishing

More of an excuse for a nice cuppa and a chat for the mums while the girls ran around the garden, Melody, Scarlett and Sophie.  We did finally get ourselves into gear and had a go at drawing fish, some with more artistic skills than others but it mattered not as it was all about a bit of mess and fun.  Fish with long fins and octopus's, star fish and a crab or two were all expertly drawn and cut out.

Then the messy bit as the glitter pens came out and were squished everywhere making pools of pretty coloured sticky glitter which were rubbed all over the fishes to make them sparkle.  Next rods were made from garden cane and string with magnets and clay weights.

The girls got fishing trying to catch the one that got away, the fish still a bit heavy from the wet glitter made it a bit difficult and the attention span was a bit short as it was a nice sunny day and the sand pit beckoned.  If the fish were a bit smaller and the magnets a bit more powerful i think the fishing would have been better. The girls left and the mummies stayed to fish for a bit and ended up having more fun than the girls.

Hooray Tammy caught a sparkly looking octopus.

must try some bait next time !
