National farm day

It was national farm day yesterday 7th June and lots of farms up and down the country swung open their farm gates to let the public visit and see what goes on, how crops are grown or how animals lived as well as a good look at all the lovely big and exciting farm machines, which the kids were allowed to scramble up and sit behind the wheel of a massive work horse and imagine what it is like to be a farmer.
We went to a dairy farm and got to see lots and lots of dairy cows and heifers.
We were even able to see the big milk tankers turn up and drain away all the milk the cows had made that day which was 5500 litres

Even cows love to look glam too check out this big cow brush
There were lots of other animals to see which made it a nice day out

Lots of big farm machines that do all the hard work collecting and planting the food we eat, they look even bigger close up.
