Chocolate bunny lollies

We pretended to be chocolateteers today in the kitchen and oh what fun we had, 2 girls and lots of lovely chocolate.

We were sent this sweet little bunny tin from the kind people at Lakeland. What a perfect piece of Easter chocolate fun Sophie couldn't wait to get going and make some bunnies.
We melted the chocolate and i put this into my squeezy icing bottle to make it easy for Sophie to handle the chocolate.  I showed her how to do a face and she copied mummy and finished off the other five faces.  The look of concentration on her face says it all as she gave each bunny its own character, we left them for a few mins to set while we melted the next colour of chocolate.
The next bit got even better as Sophie got to ooze and squish the chocolate into the bunny pans and fill up there heads, there was much Ohing from Sophie as she saw her bunny's take shape.  We added the lolly stick into the chocolate and a good tip is to counter balance the sticks as they will lean out of the pan naturally due to the length, by putting a slab of wrapped chocolate each side of the pan for the sticks to rest upon while they set.
Once the sticks were a little firmer set in the chocolate we transferred the pan to the fridge to properly set.  Another great tip is to put the pan into the freezer for 30 mins at the end and then turn them upside down and tap the corner of the tin onto a chopping board to release these easily from the tin. Hey presto little chocolate Easter bunnies.  Sophie was proud as punch when she got to see them and laughed at their faces that she had drawn.  I thought she had done a great job and loved the tin too, the size was perfect it wasn't to big so Sophie wasn't getting huge lumps of chocolate to munch.  The bunny tin was easy to clean as well even better.
Sophie could not wait to sample these and we will now be making lots more bunnies throughout Easter as it was a great activity and made some fun treats to enjoy through out the week.
