Pond skimming

My Nature nymph is loving her new surroundings and the chance to go pond skipping at Dunwich was irresistible tucked in among the beautiful purple heather and the bright yellow gorse flower bushes we across a pond with a pond skipping experts from the national trust.

Grabbing her trusty net to hand Sophie got on with scooping through the mud, water and reeds to see what she could catch.

With her own finders tray she was whooping with delight when her net brought up beastie after beastie, all the time asking OOH whats this and look at this one.

She was so thrilled to catch all sorts of things from newts to dragonfly lava, below are some of her bugs she caught, she is so hooked on pond skimming that she has asked daddy to build her a pond in the back garden.
Dunwich also has a really large nature reserve just check out this wonderful heather growing there

  2. What great finds, she must be really proud of herself. Pond dipping is a big hit here on the farm too with two lakes and plenty of nets to borrow. We don't get the great bugs and beasties Sophie did though! Thanks for linking up with Country Kids.
