Today is daddies birthday so Sophie couldn't wait to get into the kitchen to bake him some birthday buns especially as she also got a present too
Whilst shopping out in Waitrose we spotted this really cute Miniomo baking set and there was no way we were leaving the store without it, we also got the heart moulds that were right next to the star one but i don't think these are part of the range and maybe just a normal Waitrose mould.
Sophie has been using a hot chocolate whisk until now which is a very tiny whisk so she was very happy to be upgraded to this bright and colourful whisk with a nice big wooden handle to help her grip and get a good whisking action.
The Fluttercups and friends silicone spoon was really good to grip and had a nice firm but floppy bowl to the spoon which made it really good not only for stirring but scrapping too very handy when your trying to get every last scrap of cake mix out of the bowl. We haven't used the rolling pin yet except in practice but again this look like a great tool even mummy wanted to trade in her old wooden one for the bright pick version.
We loved teh bright silicon moulds but we thought that the star shaped moulds were really good at holding the cake shape and they also easily released the cakes with out breaking, however the heart version wasnt so good as they spread and lost the shape and were difficult to remove from the moulds and most of the cakes broke as they were released so we wont use them again.
Next came more fun and Sophie's colour scheme was pink and orange and we mixed up batches of icing sugar and then went mad sprinkling lots of different types of rainbow sprinkles hearts and stars.
Happy Birthday Daddy xxx
PS we were not asked to review this Miniomo kitchen set we just liked it very much and found it extremely practical for a budding chef we wanted to share something we found that was good.
